Your Event

Lancashire Ceilidh and Barn Dance Band, Fylde Coasters Folk Dance Band offer a relaxed and enjoyable entertainment for all occasions with a mixture of dancing and, music and songs which we are delighted to tailor to your individual requirements. Although we are primarily a Ceilidh Band, our performance can include song interludes to entertain dancers and non dancers, if you let us have advance notice of your requirements.

Available throughout North West England, Fylde Coasters Folk Dance Band is a Ceilidh and Barn Dance band comprising musicians from Leyland to Lytham St Annes on Lancashire's Fylde Coast.  With many years experience of public performance in the folk arts between us we can draw from a wide repertoire of material to suit the specific requirements of your function.

Our members play a variety of instruments including the  melodeon, concertina, midi concertina, fiddle, flute, picolo and drums, but not necessarily all at the same time!

A typical evening’s entertainment, in the form of a barn dance or ceilidh (simply a Gaelic word originally denoting a social gathering or celebration) would consist of traditional set dances, with full instructions from one of our experienced and sympathetic callers, interspersed with music. With prior notice we can also include traditional, humorous and contemporary folk songs.

But for your event the balance is entirely up to you.  The evening, or afternoon, can have as much or as little dancing as you like, and as well as the set dances we can play for waltzes and other partner dances.  If you want to give your event an Irish or Scottish flavour we can do that as well.  Our PA equipment can also be used for any announcements or presentations which form part of your event.

Give us a call or e-mail and we’ll let you know how best we can make your party go with a swing, twirl or caper.
